New Members joining the Choir


If you are thinking of joining the choir, here are a few things that you may find helpful.

We sing and perform for pleasure.

The choir rehearses every Monday (from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm) from September to March each year at Stratford Grammar School for Girls. Details will be given on this site. Members are expected to regularly attend rehearsals to ensure that we maintain a high quality of performance. In addition to weekly rehearsals, we hold a Saturday Workshop each term when we give time to developing our individual voices and the sound of the choir as a whole.

Stratford Grammar School for Girls is on Shottery Road, Stratford. Please enter the school postcode (CV37 9HA) into MSN maps, Multimap or Streetmap on the Web for a detailed map. The narrow turning into the school car park is almost opposite Quineys Road.

The Society offers free membership to students as well as two scholarships per year which provide free membership and singing lessons.

If this sounds serious, don't be alarmed! As well as striving for choral perfection we like to enjoy ourselves in the process. Once you are a member of the choir, you will need to pay the subscription and to hire or buy music for the current concert. The annual subscription rate for 2011/12 is £65. Students are free. Fees are due at the first rehearsal in September.
