General Information for Singers

The annual subscription for the 2022-23 season is £120 and should be paid at or before the first rehearsal of the season.

Gift Aid
Please complete a gift aid form if you can, as it means more money for the choir at no extra cost to you. Contact the Treasurer for further details.

Music for our concerts can be hired for a small fee (normally £2 per item) from our Librarian. We collect scores back in on the night of the concert after the performance – please do not forget to hand yours in !!!

We hold rehearsals on Monday evenings during term time at St Andrew's Church, Shottery CV37 9HQ. Please arrive in good time so you can be in your seat and ready to start singing promptly at 7:30 pm. The rehearsal will include a short break and will finish at 9:15pm. The church must be vacated by 9.30 pm.

There is limited parking available at the church and overflow parking at the Shakespeare Hospice. If it is possible to car-share, that will help.

There is usually an additional rehearsal on the Wednesday evening before a concert and a final rehearsal with orchestra during the afternoon on the day of the performance.

For full details of rehearsals please download our Rehearsal Schedule using the icon opposite. The schedule can also be obtained from your section representative at the beginning of the season if it has not already been forwarded to you.

If you cannot attend two consecutive rehearsals or you find you are unable to sing in the concert, please contact your section representative.

If you miss more than three rehearsals leading up to any one concert you must obtain permission to sing in the concert from the Musical Director.

Ticket Sales
Without a good audience we cannot have good concerts. The audience creates the atmosphere at concerts, and the revenue from ticket sales is a major part of our income.

Most of our ticket sales are made by choir members to their friends and families. Please take individual responsibility for promoting our concerts and selling tickets to your friends. Tickets are on a sale from about four weeks before each concert. Please try and sell as many as possible, and as early as possible.

Details of how to buy tickets are on the 'Buying Tickets' page of this website.

There will be more detailed information in the 'Information for Singers 2022-23' document which you will be able to download from this page when it is available, and in the 'Members Only' section
