We welcomed Donald Hunter as our new President in 2019 following the sad loss of our previous President, Professor Ronnie Mulryne.
Donald has a very long association with the Choral Society going back to 1977 when his wife Elizabeth joined the choir as a Soprano. Since then he has been a regular supporter and long standing Patron.
Donald writes “During all these years when Elizabeth went off to rehearsals every Monday evening, I knew that fun and encouragement were being enjoyed, and Elizabeth might return exhilarated and exhausted in equal measure.
“Also during those years I was in the audience for every one of your concerts, and I was and remain green with envy that I was not up there among the tenors and basses singing such a litany of glorious music.”
Donald has served as a trustee on the boards of various local charities, and was a past chairman of Warwick Arts Society and the South Warwickshire branch of the NSPCC. Supporting also two other choirs, his principal local interest more recently has been the Hampton Lucy Church Millennium Appeal for which he ran the London Marathon. Working currently as a consultant with the solicitors Moore & Tibbits in Warwick he is also an associate trustee with Castel Froma Neuro Care.
