Thank you to our Patrons for the support they provide to our society. Without your support, we could not maintain the high quality of our concerts.
Stratford upon Avon Choral Society was founded in 1836 - that's one year before Queen Victoria came to the throne! We have a long tradition of choral excellence, based on a shared passion for performing great choral music to the highest standard we can.
Performing classical music to a high standard is expensive. We hire professional musicians as soloists and accompanists, and a professional orchestra. It is the combination of a large and well rehearsed chorus performing with these professional musicians that makes our concerts so special.
Ticket sales alone cannot sustain the Society’s high standard of musical excellence. Only with the support of generous individuals can we meet the costs of musicians and singers and maintain our position as one of the leading Choral Societies in the Midlands. We depend of financial support from Patrons and Sponsors, in addition to the subscriptions paid by singing members, to make this possible.
Please help us to continue our great tradition of bringing the world's greatest choral works to audiences in Stratford-upon-Avon by becoming a Patron or by making a donation.
Becoming a Patron:
Patrons are individuals who support the society and are non-singing members of the society. We ask for a minimum donation which for the 2022-23 season is £95 per person, and some patrons feel able to give more than this. The benefits Patrons receive are as follows:
Patrons are listed by name in our concert programmes as a way of acknowledging their support.
Patrons receive one ticket and reserved seating for each of the November, December and March concerts. They may request an additional reserved seat for someone accompanying them to the concert. Reserved seats are held until 10 minutes before the start of the performance.
Patrons receive a complimentary programme for each concert and complimentary drink at the interval or after the concert.
As members of the society, Patrons are sent the society's Newsletters and are invited to attend social gatherings and the society's AGM in June each year. They have the right to vote at the AGM.
If you would like to become a Patron then please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or print off and completre this form, and send it to Sheelagh Douglas by email or by post at the address included on the form.
