Mozart's Great Mass in C Minor is one of his finest works. He composed it aged 26–27, shortly after his marriage to Constanze Weber, a virtuoso soprano singer. The outstanding writing for soprano solo was intended for her, and Constanze sang the 1783 premiere of this work in Salzburg. The work is surely a tribute to his love for her!

Grand, dramatic and deeply expressive, it combines magnificent choral writing with dazzling passages for soloists. This is Mozart at his most inspired - a work to experience live and really savour.

His Ascension Oratorio (BWV 11) is a vivid, uplifting work that brings the story of Christ’s Ascension to life through radiant choruses, expressive arias and dramatic narration. Originally performed for the Feast of the Ascension in Leipzig, it combines the grandeur of sacred music with moments of intimate reflection and joyful anticipation.

Tickets cost £25, or £23 if purchased online up to two weeks in advance.

Tickets for those 25 years or under and in full time education are £10.

Children 18 years or under admitted free.
